South Korea operates two high-speed rail networks: national operator KORAIL (KTX, KTX-Sancheon, KTX-Cheongryong & KTX-Eum) from Seoul Station, Yongsan, and Cheongnyangni, and SRT (Super Rapid Train) from Suseo Station in southern Seoul (Gangnam). Select your origin and destination below to compare travel times, Economy vs. First Class fares in KRW (₩), and station hubs.

KTX vs. SRT: Which High-Speed Train Should You Book?

  • No ticket gates—board directly: Korean KTX and SRT stations do not have fare turnstiles. Walk straight to your platform 15 minutes before departure and sit in your assigned car (Hocha, 호차) and seat; conductors verify occupied seats digitally on board.
  • Seoul Station / Yongsan (KTX) vs. Suseo (SRT): If your hotel is in Myeongdong, Jongno, Hongdae, or Insadong, ride KORAIL KTX from Seoul Station or Yongsan. If you are staying in Gangnam, Jamsil, or Coex, SRT from Suseo Station is closer and roughly 10% cheaper on the same high-speed tracks to Busan, Gyeongju, Dongdaegu, and Gwangju Songjeong.
  • Booking window: Both KORAIL (letskorail.com / KorailTalk app) and SRT open reservations 1 month before departure at 07:00 KST. Friday–Sunday trains to Busan, Gyeongju, Jeonju, and Gangneung sell out quickly—book at least 1–2 weeks ahead.
